Betsey's Systemic Approach to Individual Therapy
As a client-centered therapist grounded in optimism and positivity, Betsey uses *systematic treatments to help clients work through their current dissatisfactions in their lives and relationships. Clients have the ability to leverage their core strengths to take concrete action.
Clients see that they can grow and develop gratitude – inspiring spectacular, authentic relationships.
*A systemic approach to therapy is seeing the person or people as both influencing and being influenced by all the people, organizations, and environments in which she or he is living, not simply conceptualizing what is 'happening inside’ each person.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
At the core of Betsey’s work with all of her clients is her practice of IFS, best explained here:

In regular people language, what the IFS approach means is you are seen as whole with an immutable SELF (Calm, Curious, Compassionate, Confident, Courageous, Clear, Connected, and Creative) that has all that you need to survive and thrive. You and Betsey will explore which ‘parts of you’ need to be heard and healed. Your parts (anxiety, depression, angry, people pleasing, etc.) make sense to Betsey because she understands that they’ve helped you survive. It’s the ones that are working overtime and are carrying burdens, that together you and she can heal as you become more SELF lead.
